Furzley Mermaide

8th NOVEMBER - IT IS WITH REGRET....

....to announce that Sophia passed away in the early hours. In the field with her Daughter (Mermaide) and G.Daughter (Kiss me Kate) at the age of 25 and having produced 15 foals all of which have gone on and performed in their own right. A full report will be in the annual breed society review.

HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW - 9TH OCTOBER

Wow....what an experience! I think I was more effected than Mermaide with the atmosphere!! She didn't put a foot wrong the entire time although she was rather stiff but now having been I've realised there is no way you can recreate that sort of atmosphere! I was pleased with 8th place and hope we can go again in the future.

Furzley Charaide, owned by Cath Harrison and ridden by Jo Callwood competed in the workers on the Thursday, brushed a pole with an unlucky 10 faults and came 3rd, the highest of the poles and was only 5 points behind first place, so a very unlucky pole! So pleased he has found such a good home with Cath and he has been to RI and HOYs for the last few years and its hoped he does the same again next year

BREED SHOW - 24TH - 26TH AUGUST

Stallion Day - Furzley Accolaide had his first outing since coming back from Katie Chappel after HOYs last year, he was 6th inhand and 3rd in the ridden. Furzley Mermaide competed in the Olympia qualifier and won, qualifying for the semi finals (sadly I won't be going as I'm on holiday, not well planned!)

Performance Day - Furzley marinaide & Mermaide both competed in the combined training and were 3rd and 2nd respectively after the dressage, however I pulled out due to the ground and having only just managed to get round the WHP novice class (her first ever time jumping away from home!) she was tired. Marinaide tried his heart out but was popping in some large jumps which with his mid 60's rider, thought best not to continue!

Inhand Day - All ponies were stars, F.Fanfaire won the small 3yr old filly class. F.Kiss Me Kate (Sire: F.Marinaide) was 3rd in the large yearling class. F.Serenaide won the large open brood mare class, sadly her foal wasn't placed (her 3rd foal and only one not to have won!!) in the filly foal class but our neighbours won the class with their foal, Playmoor Forget Me Not (Sire: Luckington Sportaide) and went Champion too!

NEW FOREST SHOW - 31ST JULY

Playmoor Royal Mint wins the sports pony inhand class and takes the championship, owned by Alun Humphrey & Liz Suter (Sire F.Marinade)

Furzley Serenaide took 4th in the brood mare class and her foal, Furzley Mayfaire 5th - They were both a tad excited!

LINCOLNSHIRE COUNTY SHOW - 19TH - 20TH JUNE

FURZLEY MERMAIDE WINS AND QUALIFIES FOR HOYS!!!! (Obviously I cried in the ring!)

CHESHIRE COUNTY SHOW - 18TH-19TH JUNE

Furzley Mermaide came 2nd in the HOYs qualifier

THREE COUNTIES SHOW - 14TH - 16TH JUNE

Furzley Mermaide came 2nd in the NF ridden then took 5th in the HOYs ridden

NFPEC SHOW - 2ND JUNE

Furzley Kiss Me Kate won her inhand class and went on to be reservce youngstock champion. Furzley Fanfaire came 2nd in the 3yr old class. Due to a farrier induced lameness Mermaide stayed at home and I dragged Marinaide out of the field away from his wife to replace her ridden and WHP classes (it was due to be her first one!) then to complete Accolaides dressage test (he'd lost a shoe!) He was an absolute star, going clear in the workers and ending up 5th (ridden judge slated us due to weight, saying he couldn't move properly!) and he was 6th in the stallion ridden, then won the prelim dressage test!! (So much for not being able to move!)

Well done to Alan and Liz Suter with their brood mare Rushpole Linnet who won her class and the foal, by Luckington Sportaide then went on to win her class too

ROYAL BATH & WEST - 29TH MAY - 1ST JUNE

Furzley Kiss Me Kate took 3rd in the yearling class, Furzley Fanfaire also came along but was a little overweight!

ELITE SCHEME 2012 RESULTS
